Somerset grapes ripen late August and are U Pick only grapes sold by the pound. They are a “seedless” grape as many of the grapes bought in most grocery stores.

Somerset are very sweet and great for jam or jelly. This tolerant northern variety can also be used to make wine. Many of our customers pick them for this reason.

Otherwise, Somerset are a table grape simply meant to be eaten. It is a very versatile grape.

Vanburen grapes are a Concord cross sold by the pound as U Pick only. Essentially, they taste exactly like the iconic grape Concord that bought as juice in freezer aisle.

Vanburen do have a seed that needs to be pitted for jam or jelly. This grape can also be canned to make a wonderful grape juice.

Concord grapes aren’t zoned for our currently zoned climate. However, Vanburen are a wonderful substitute.
